Paul Gauguin - Ship Description
The ship's small size allows it to navigate in shallow lagoons and narrow channels. Kayakers, windsurfers, snorkelers, and scuba divers can launch excursions from the retractable water sports platform. In addition, all the required snorkeling and diving equipment is available. The diving staff offers PADI-certification for novice divers and advanced diving classes.
Passengers have a wealth of daily activities from which to choose, from relaxing on the teak pool deck to learning about the history and culture of the islands at a lecture. Browse through the Fare Tahiti, or Tahiti House, a small onboard art gallery featuring Polynesian paintings, prints, and statues, and several original works by Gauguin. A fully-equipped fitness center allows workouts at sea, while the Carita Spa offers a full menu of body treatments and massages.
Michelin two-star chef Jean-Pierre Vigato presides over the dining choices, which include the main dining room L'Etoile, La Veranda, and Le Grill. Evening entertainment choices include the new piano bar, gaming in the newly renovated Le Casino, sipping cocktails in the Connoisseur Club, or listening to piano music indoors or out in La Palette Lounge. The Grand Salon stage plays host to the Gaugines, a lively troupe that combines Polynesian storytelling and dancing.
